Department of Oncology at Liaquat National Hospital strives to battle against the prevalent misconception of cancer being a death sentence. Our dedicated team of doctors and nursing staff works closely to provide compassionate and excellent care to our patients. It is a matter of great pride for us to be one of the most advanced Oncology departments in the region, with a huge number of referrals not only from other provinces but also from other countries.
We are at the forefront of diagnosing, treating and curing malignant conditions of the body through comprehensive and individualized treatment plans for our patients which are based on latest research. Our Oncologists work closely with Intensivists, Surgeons, Radiologists, Pathologists, Hematologists and Blood Bank services to provide quality care to the patients.
Education and Training
We offer a 3-year medical oncology postgraduate training (FCPS) program to our residents, which is recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. This program exposes our trainees to a diverse range of oncological conditions through outpatient clinics, ward rounds and daily specialized tumor board meetings about oncology issues and their management. Due to rapidly expanding nature of the field, it is very important to remain up to date on latest treatment modifications. The department is actively involved in research activities and arranges regular CME activities to educate young doctors about the constantly changing paradigm in cancer treatment.
