The Department of Microbiology works closely with all the disciplines of Medicine to help diagnosing the underlying causes of infectious conditions. Our advanced and well equipped Microbiology laboratory is ISO certified. We work diligently and efficiently to utilize our leading-edge lab technology to detect pathogens through microscopic examination, serology and culture tests to produce timely and high quality results for routine and complex clinical cases.
Education and Training
Our faculty is actively involved in teaching pathology to medical students of Liaquat National Medical College, College of Nursing and School of Diagnostic Laboratory Sciences. Regular interactive teaching sessions are also arranged for the staff to facilitate learning objectives. The department offers an Internship Program for graduate and postgraduate students in the subject of Microbiology. The Microbiology Department at Liaquat National Hospital is also recognized for a four year Residency program leading to FCPS in Microbiology by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.
