Our dedicated team of competent consultants at Department of Internal Medicine not only diagnoses and treats diseases, but also prevent the initial outbreak of these diseases by recognizing and controlling risk factors such as elevated cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Liaquat National Hospital has multiple specialties all under one roof, which enable consultants of different disciplines to work together to ensure that the patients receive a comprehensive health treatment plan.

Services

Fully equipped ICU and HDU units undertake critical patients and provide them with round-the-clock advanced and comprehensive care. We have dedicated outpatient clinics in mornings, afternoons as well as in evenings. In addition to having inpatients in our own specialty, we also provide internal medicine referral service to all other disciplines in the hospital.

Women’s Health

The basic underlying theme of the clinic is to promote health and longevity by practicing preventive medicine and promoting awareness. Many feminine problems are dealt under one roof. Facilities like executive health checkup, weight management, pubertal problems, post menopausal issues, adult vaccination, dietary advice, screening for nutritional deficiencies, bone health, metabolic health, diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders, initial manifestations of rheumatological problems, psychosomatic problems, screening of breast cancers, cervical cancers and colorectal cancers, and appropriate referrals to specialities.

Education and Training

We offer a highly structured four-year postgraduate training program in Internal Medicine that allows our trainees to qualify for FCPS accreditation by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. Our aim is to provide trainees ample exposure to inpatient, outpatient, critical care and ambulatory medicine and produce well-rounded physicians who can pursue one of the many subspecialties of medicine.
