The Department of Haematology and Blood Bank is very well-established and provides both diagnostic and clinical services. It comprises of experienced faculty, well-trained technical staff and state-of-the-art equipments.

We are a member of College of American Pathologists (CAP) Proficiency Testing. Collectively, we strive to provide quality service to both LNH and outside patients. Haematology laboratory works non-stop in both diagnostic and therapeutic capacity to provide routine and urgent blood reports and blood products to our patients. In addition to routine blood tests, we also offer coagulation profiles, bone marrow, bone trephine, factor assays and thrombophilia markers.

Full Haematology tests such as CBC, PLT, HB, Retic, ESR, TLC, DLC, MP, MP Index, Absolute Neutrophil count, Bone Marrow, G6PD, HB and Protien Electrophoresis, PT, APTT, BT, D-DIMER, Protein C and S, Factor V- leiden, Factor V- assay, Factor VIII, TT, Anti thrombin III, FDP, FBG, correction studies, Lupus anticoagulant, are available. Samples are accepted 24/7.

At LNH, Patient care forms an integral part of clinical service which is provided by experienced Haematologists. Clinics cater benign and malignant cases from within and outside the country with regular admissions for chemotherapy.

Blood Bank

We believe safe blood saves lives. LNH Blood Bank is among one of the best blood banks in the city. Blood is exclusively collected from non professional donors. All the blood is screened for Hepatitis B and C, HIV, Syphilis and Malaria. Hepatitis and AIDS screening is done regularly followed by NAT (Nucleic acid testing). Blood processing, storage and transportation is done as per laid down standards.

Education and Training

We offer an accredited postgraduate training program for FCPS, awarded by College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. We encourage research activities and publish numerous papers every year. We also arrange workshops, symposia and refresher courses to keep our faculty updated to the latest developments in the field of Haematology.
