ASSISTANT MANAGER - OPERATION THEATRE
Operation Theatre
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocation of theatres as per approved theatre allocation list.
- Make sure that all equipments are in functional state before providing the theatre to any end user.
- Manage Life threatening / Limb threatening / Urgent cases beside routine allocation as per policy.
- Reports any incident in theatres to the Senior Manager.
- Forward users requirements to the Senior Manager.
- Maintain procedures and theatre time consumption record / End user feedback at the end of each list.
- Plans and maintains staffing pattern for the OT meeting the patient’s need for continuity of care and level of care.
- Ensures that all surgeons and anesthetist orders are executed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Reinforces OT standards prescribed in the procedures and manuals of Operation Theatre.
- Responsible for safety and comfort of patients, and the health and safety of employees assigned to the OT.
- Collaborates with ancillary support services to provide a safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- To monitor, supervise and train the OT technicians and CSSD technicians in coordination with surgical specialties.
- Responsible for the OT attire which includes sterility, cleanliness, neatness and adherence to hospital policies and protocols.
- Ensures the proper disposal of sharps and hospital waste.
Qualifications and Experience:
- MBBS / MBA in Hospital / Health Care Management or an equivalent qualification with 5 to 7 years’ work experience related to managing work activities in the operation theatres of a tertiary care hospital.
- Should have 2 to 3 years of supervisory level experience in an administrative position at a management level.
- Verbal Ability / Communication Skill- Effectively communicate with co-workers & peers.
- Problem Solving / Decision Making- Root Cause Analysis.
- Interpersonal Skill- Co-operation teamwork.
- Should be proficient at the use of MS Office.
