LNH offers FCPS residency training programs, for more than 30 disciplines: these are recognized for fellowships by the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).

The duration of the Residency training varies from 2 to 5.5 years depending upon the specialties chosen.

LNH inducts postgraduate trainees for FCPS Residency Training, twice a year in January and July. The advertisement for residency training appears in the selected national newspaper, a month prior to the induction date. The advertisement is also updated on LNH Website.
The online application form will be available after admissions are announced through an advertisement. The advertisement is published in the selected newspaper and updated on the LNH Website. Applicants are required to complete the online application form and submit the printed Application Form along with the required documents and the prescribed fee, to the Cash Department, Ground Floor, Administration Building at Liaquat National Hospital from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The following documents must be submitted along with the application form:
- Four recent passport-size photographs
- Updated CV
- FCPS Part 1 Letter
- MBBS Degree with Mark Sheet
- House Job Certificate
- Certificates and Marks sheets of Matric/O-Level and Intermediate/A-Level.
- Valid PMDC Registration/License
- Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC)
- COVID Vaccination Certificate (must be fully vaccinated)
- Experience certificates (if any)
The online application form will not be processed unless the printed version of the application form is submitted along with the pre-requisite documents and prescribed application processing fee.
The application processing fee is payable in cash at the Cash Department, Ground Floor, Administration Building, Liaquat National Hospital, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
The application processing fee is Rs.2500. The fee can only be paid after the applicant has submitted the online application form. The Fee Voucher can be downloaded after submitting the online application.
Applicants can apply for residency training in multiple disciplines for which an online application form must be filled out and submitted separately for each discipline along with the separate fee and documents.
Applications/CVs for residency training sent through email will not be considered/processed. Applicants must complete the online application form and follow the instructions.
Eligibility criteria are as follows:
- MBBS degree from an institution recognized by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC)
- One-year Internship/House Job
- Valid PM&DC Registration/License
- FCPS Part 1 from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP)
- Required training completed in either General Medicine or General Surgery as applicable for any subspecialty
The candidates who have submitted the application form, paid the fee and submitted the documents will be contacted by the HR Department through email and SMS for a test schedule or interview date (as applicable). The test schedule will also be updated on the LNH Website.
The test comprises scenario-based MCQs covering clinical subjects.
No, there is no prescribed book(s) to prepare for the test.
Applicants must bring the Applicant’s Copy of the fee voucher along with the original CNIC. Photocopies of the fee voucher and screenshots shall not be accepted.
The application deadline for LNH residency training is June 5, 2023. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.
