The duration of the Residency training varies from 4 to 5.5 years depending upon the specialties chosen.

MCPS training is offered in Pulmonology discipline.
The induction process is a bi-annual activity which starts in May & November every year with an advertisement in selected national newspapers and LNH website. Induction in the training will be twice in a year i.e., during January and July for FCPS & MCPS as per CPSP guidelines.
Candidates completing their MBBS from outside Pakistan are required to first approach Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) to obtain license after getting their degrees verified and recognized.
One form can be used for one training program only i.e., if an applicant wishes to apply for more than one Residency training then separate forms will be required.

Candidates joining the postgraduate training programmes are paid a stipend. There is no tuition fee. Candidates only pay a one-time application form fee.
Residency application form will be available in the Cash Department, after Residency training at LNH is announced. Applicants will obtain Residency application form duly stamped & signed from cash department after payment of Rs. 2500/- (non-refundable) within office hours, to apply for Residency training offered at LNH.
Applicants will submit completed Residency Application form by the deadline as per the advertisement along with all the required documents mentioned in check list on the form. Completed Residency Application form will be submitted in HR to assigned HR Officer within office hours. HR Officer will issue the stamped Acknowledgement slip after ensuring that applicant has attached the required documents.
In addition, candidates who are shortlisted for interview, will be expected to bring original documents at the time of interview.
No, Residency application forms along with required documents are required to be submitted in HR department only.
Those meeting the criteria for relevant Residency training programme will be contacted by HR Department for Test or Interview (as applicable).
The scenario-based multiple choice questions mostly cover clinical subjects.
No, there are no prescribed books to prepare for the test.
You will be required to bring the following to the Test Centre:
- 1. Acknowledgement slip
- 2. Original CNIC
Please DO NOT bring the following:
- 1. Stationery (this will be provided to you at the Centre)
- 2. Jewelry, Calculators, cameras, mobile phones or any other electronic device
If you want to join medicine/surgery sub-specialty and do not have experience in Internal Medicine/General Surgery, you will need to apply for 2-year Internal Medicine/General Surgery Track. After two years, you will be required to apply again for medicine/surgery sub-specialty.
No. If you choose any one track in Internal Medicine/ General Surgery (2-year or 4-year) you cannot switch to other track. This is in accordance with CPSP rules.
Accommodation is not guaranteed. Limited accommodation for female/male candidates is available on first come-first-served basis which will be confirmed by Administration Department on receipt of your appointment letter.
