What Eye Conditions Do We Treat?

  • Advanced Glaucoma (Kala Pani or Kala Motia): A condition causing high pressure in the eye, leading to vision loss.
  • Cataracts (Safaid Motia): Clouding of the eye's lens, affecting clear vision.
  • Dry Eye Syndrome: Inadequate tear production causing irritation and discomfort.
  • Corneal Disorders: Issues affecting the cornea, leading to vision problems.
  • Muscle Imbalance (Strabismus): Misalignment of the eyes, commonly known as "crossed eyes."
  • Retinal Disorders: Damage to the retina, affecting vision. The conditions include retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy.
  • Ptosis (Eyelid Drooping): Drooping of the upper eyelid, which can obstruct vision.
  • Premature Infant Eye Care: Eye issues in premature babies, such as Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP).
  • Posterior Capsule Opacification (PCO): Clouding behind the lens implant after cataract surgery.
  • Refractive Errors: Vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
  • Macular Degeneration: Loss of central vision due to aging or other factors.
  • Uveitis: Inflammation of the middle layer of the eye, leading to pain and vision issues.
  • Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye): Inflammation or infection of the eye's outer membrane, causing redness and discharge.
  • Keratoconus: Thinning of the cornea, causing it to bulge and distort vision.
  • Optic Neuritis: Inflammation of the optic nerve, which can cause vision loss.

Comprehensive Laser Treatments

Our department offers advanced laser technologies:

  • Argon laser treatments for a range of eye conditions. This laser technology is versatile and can be used to treat retinal issues, glaucoma, and other eye disorders.
  • YAG laser for treating posterior capsule opacification (PCO) after cataract surgery.

LASIK Surgeries for Vision Correction

A laser procedure that reshapes the cornea to correct vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Learn more about LASIK

SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty)

A laser treatment for glaucoma that improves fluid drainage from the eye, lowering intraocular pressure with minimal recovery time.

Advanced Vitreo Retinal surgery
Digital fundus fluorescein angiography
Most advanced Cataract Surgeries with premium IOL

Amniotic Membrane Grafting

A treatment for eye surface issues, using a graft from placental tissue to promote healing and reduce inflammation in conditions like corneal ulcers, keratitis, and epithelial defects.

Corneal Transplantation

Our ophthalmology department offers corneal transplantation, a surgical procedure to replace damaged or diseased corneal tissue with healthy donor tissue. This procedure is performed to restore vision in patients suffering from corneal disorders such as keratoconus, corneal scarring, or corneal edema. Learn more about Corneal Transplantation.

Reconstructive and Cosmetic Eye Surgeries

We provide both functional and aesthetic surgical options, including:

  • Lid reconstruction surgery for trauma or deformities.
  • Ptosis (Lid Droop) surgery to restore eyelid function and appearance.

Education and Training

We have established ourselves as a renowned undergraduate and postgraduate teaching centre. Our post graduate program is recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. We are also recognized for post fellowship in retina.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, our department offers pediatric ophthalmology services, addressing common childhood eye conditions like lazy eye (amblyopia), strabismus (crossed eyes), and refractive errors, ensuring early diagnosis and treatment to promote healthy vision development.

During an eye exam, our ophthalmologist will assess your vision, check for refractive errors, and evaluate the health of your eyes.

To protect your eyesight, maintain a healthy diet rich in vitamins, wear sunglasses to protect against UV rays, avoid smoking, take breaks from screen time, and ensure regular eye check-ups. If you have underlying health conditions like diabetes or hypertension, managing them is important to preventing eye-related complications.

The Ophthalmology Department provides comprehensive eye care services, including routine eye exams, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, cataract surgery, glaucoma management, corneal diseases treatment, laser eye surgeries, and corrective procedures for refractive errors like nearsightedness and farsightedness.

Untreated eye conditions can lead to progressive vision loss, permanent damage to the eyes, and in severe cases, complete blindness. Conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration require timely intervention to preserve vision and prevent complications.

Symptoms of eye infections include redness, swelling, pain, discharge, and sensitivity to light. Treatment depends on the type of infection—bacterial infections are treated with antibiotic eye drops or ointments, while viral infections often require supportive care and time to heal.
