OPHTHALMIC TECHNOLOGIST
Ophthalmology
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs complete ophthalmic history and preliminary examination and Opthalmology non-invasive procedures
- Prepares patients for ophthalmology examination by dilating pupils or any other instructions as prescribed by the Consultant
- Counsels patients by conveying consultant’s instructions, use of eye drops, contact lenses, and answering questions about surgery
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures along with complying with legal regulations.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting and promptly reporting equipment issues.
- Ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
- Able to assist Consultant in minor procedures
Qualifications and Experience:
- BS Ophthalmic Technology or equivalent education from a recognized Institution with 1 to 2 years of related experience.
- Should be trained in refractions and all diagnostic procedures
- Good verbal and written communication, as well as, exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
