Dental Technician
Dental & Maxilofacial Surgery
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and fabricate dental prosthetics, appliances, and restorations, such as dentures, crowns, bridges, and orthodontic appliances.
- Create accurate impressions and models of patients' teeth and mouths.
- Select and prepare dental materials, such as metals, ceramics, and plastics, for fabricating dental prosthetics and appliances.
- Operate and maintain various dental laboratory equipment.
- Inspect and test dental prosthetics and appliances for quality, accuracy, and fit.
- Communicate with dentists and other healthcare professionals to clarify instructions, discuss treatment plans, and resolve any issues.
- Maintain and troubleshoot dental equipment, instruments, and prosthetics.
- Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases.
- Maintain accurate work records, including patient information, treatment plans, and laboratory procedures.
- Stay updated with new technologies, materials, and techniques in dental technology.
- Assist in managing the dental laboratory, including supervising staff, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Preferably intermediate with a Diploma in Dental Technology from a recognized institute with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
