Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and as per instruction of
Sindh Government, all classes at LNMC have been
suspended till 31st May, 2020 and hostels closed.
LNMC being fully cognizant with the importance of time
of the medical students, has arranged for online Zoom
sessions for its students from First to Final year.
The students in these sessions have a chance to be
taught by faculty and have their queries addressed.
Subsequent to the sessions, assignments are uploaded
on Edmodo to gauge students understanding and
answer any further query that the students may have.

Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College (LNMC) has been affiliated with the University of Karachi since its inception and is allowed to impart training to 100 students each year for MBBS degree. Recently, our new batches have been affiliated with the Jinnah Sindh Medical University and are being trained in modular system in semesters.

Liaquat National Hospital has been taking a lead on national level in providing certifiable clinical and resuscitation skills training.
RSDC has latest training equipments as per international standards and has a trained certified dedicated team. The department has state of the art “ISO” certified instrumental rooms, interactive models and simulators. The participants are certified only after successfully passing through their assessments. The department runs AHA certified BLS and ACLS courses too.
Our first batch graduated in the year 2012 and went for Internship in 2013. So our success story begins from 2014 and is quite impressive in terms of pass rates.
Of the students who have completed internship to date, over 150 have passed FCPS – I & other exams and are working at prestigious institutes of Karachi like Liaquat National Hospital, Aga Khan University Hospital, Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation etc.
Around 50 students have passed PLAB / USMLE and other foreign exams and are undertaking residency in prestigious institutes like Mayo Clinic in USA, McMaster University – Canada, University College London Hospital – UK, Henry Ford Hospital & Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre, Harvard University – USA etc.
Our students have been awarded international scholarships from Ivy League Universities such as Brown, Tufts and also Fulbright scholarships.
Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College (LNMC) encourages research activities of students and faculty members and the subject is extensively taught to students of 3rd Year and culminates in protocol development. To further inculcate the importance of research LNMC has a research committee of students too.
The Library of Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College has online access to more than ten thousands journals along with several Medical & Nursing journals covering all specialties in hard copies too.
To ensure the conduct of scientifically sound research trainings are regularly conducted in house by qualified Epidemiologist and Biostatisticians for faculty and trainees too. Topics covered include Research Methodology and protocol development, Basic and Advance SPSS and manuscript writing.
All the research activities are supervised by research & ethical committees, which comprises of Chairperson and 8 – 10 members. The research committee has developed its own guidelines for submission of a research projects meeting the international Helsinki Guidelines.
The Research committee has substantial funds and encourages students and faculty to participate in national or international conferences and submit articles to international & national journals and provides financial support.
Once the research protocol along with the budget & timeline is approved it is then referred to ethical review board before final approval.
The college encourages extra-curricular activities and our students are keenly involved in it. We have 09 students’ societies to enhance the extra-curricular skills of our students.
These student societies are headed by senior faculty members who guide and mentor students in holding of activities related to their society. They teach them organizational skills, budgeting and team building.
