Radiology Services

The Radiology department at LNH is engaged in providing wide range of services to in-patients, emergency patients as well as outpatients by using high-tech equipment including CT scanning MRI, Nuclear medicine, ultrasound, mammography and x ray. The diagnosis of any medical condition forms the first step in the direction of treatment as well as recovery. Therefore, it is extremely essential to ensure that the services offered are of premium quality and inclusive. Moreover, the services should also assure that each patient receives proper care as well as correct diagnosis.
LNH Radiology is highly specialized, full service department which strives to meet all patient and clinician need in diagnostic imaging and image –guided therapies.

Significance of Radiology Services refer to the studies conducted for making images of internal organs of human body. Such tests utilize different forms of energy including magnetic fields, sound waves, x-rays or radioactive particles which traverse the human body. Here, the changes in energy patterns are visualized using special devices that change these patterns into images. Moreover, the images depict normal as well as abnormal functionality of human body.

Different branches of radiology utilize different kinds of technical equipment for enabling safe emission of radiations that facilitate diagnosis as well as treatment of diseases. Radiology services are definitely an indispensable asset for various branches of radiology.. A complete range of different radiological procedures is essential for the diagnosis of diseases at their initial stages. Diagnosis at an earlier stage could prove to be life-saving for patients suffering from dangerous diseases such as cancer.

Sometimes called CAT scanning—is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.

CT scanning combines special x-ray equipment with sophisticated computers to produce multiple images or pictures of the inside of the body.

CT scans of internal organs, bones, soft tissue and blood vessels provide greater clarity and reveal more details than regular x-ray exams.

At LNH we are using specialized equipment and expertise to create and interpret CT scans of the body, We offers patients the best scanner technology available, provide images of exceptional quality round the clock. Radiologists can more easily diagnose problems such as cancers, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, appendicitis, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders via Computed Tomography (CT) scanner that provides uncompromised image quality and outstanding clinical performance.

>Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to visualize detailed internal structures. The good contrast provided between the different soft tissues of the body make it especially useful in brain, muscles, heart, and cancer compared with other medical imaging techniques such as computed tomography (CT) or X-rays.

At LNH we are providing all the basic MRI Scans and specialized studies which includes Diffusion MRI, Fluid attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR), Magnetic resonance angiography and MRCP.

Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Ultrasound exams do not use ionizing radiation (as used in x-rays) as ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show the structure and movement of the body's internal organs,

as well as blood flowing through blood vessels.

Ultrasound imaging is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical condition.

Our radiology department is providing expertise of ultrasounds in wide range including, abdomen pelvis, musculoskeletal, renal, thyroid, dopplers, breast etc.

Nuclear Medicine is a branch of medical imaging that uses small amounts of radioactive material to diagnose or treat a variety of diseases, including many types of cancers, heart disease and certain other abnormalities within the body.

Nuclear medicine or radionuclide imaging procedures

are noninvasive and, with the exception of intravenous injections, are usually painless medical tests that help physicians diagnose medical conditions. These imaging scans use radioactive materials called radiopharmaceuticals or radiotracers. Nuclear medicine imaging studies are well known as generally more organ or tissue specific (e.g.: lungs scan, heart scan, bone scan, brain scan, etc.) than those in conventional radiology imaging, which focus on a particular section of the body . In addition, there are nuclear medicine studies that allow imaging of the whole body and detect no. Of abnormalities including trauma, fractures and arthritis.

services offered at LNH are Bone scan, thyroid scan therapy HIDA (Liver scan)lung scan,DMSA,RBC scan,Meckel’scan, thallium scan,SLN Scan(sentinel lymph node).

Mammography is a low dose X-Rays to examine human breast .The goal of mammography is the early detection of breast cancer, typically through detection of characteristic masses and/or microcalcifications. . In general a female should contain with monthly self examination, regular examination by her physician ,and have a mammography within a year or two.

At LNH services offered are consists of screening Mammography, diagnostic mammography and Biopsy when necessary.

Breast Ultrasound examination is an investigative technology that is used to evaluate breast abnormalities that are found during a clinical breast exam or after doing screening mammography or diagnostic mammography. This imaging technique allows significant freedom in obtaining images of the breast from any orientation. Breast ultrasound can image different types of breast conditions, including both benign and malignant lesions.

This imaging technique can be particularly useful in detecting breast abnormalities in patients with dense breasts. Dense breasts may make it difficult to spot on a mammogram film. Sharp images produced by ultrasound allow the doctor to distinguish between a fluid -filled cyst and a solid mass. At LNH mammogram is followed by ultra-sound This technique can be used to guide the doctor during breast biopsy if needed.

A needle localization in a procedure used to guide a surgical breast biopsy . A thin wire is use to show the lesion of surgeon .It is placed in the breast under Mammography or ultrasound guidance.

X- RAY Is non – invasive diagnostic tests that involve a low dose of radiation.
An X- RAY “beam” is used to produce images of various points of the body because it is limited to the area of interests to be an extremely safe diagnostic tool.

All x ray do not require appointment like bone and chest x-ray .Fluoroscopy exam requiring a scheduled appointment include , barium enema ,Barium swallow, ERCP , Hysteroscal pinogram , IVP , skeletal survey ,small bowel study upper GI and MCUG etc.

Is a subspecialty of radiology in which minimally invasive procedures are performed using image guidance. Some of these procedures are done for purely diagnostic purposes while others are done for treatment purposes.

The basic concept behind interventional radiology is to diagnose or treat pathology with the most minimally invasive technique possible. Images are used to direct interventional procedures, which are usually done with needles and narrow tubes called catheters. The images provide road maps that allow the interventional radiologist to guide these instruments through the body to the areas containing disease. By minimizing the physical trauma to the patient, peripheral interventions can reduce infection rates and recovery time.

- Fluid and Abscess drainages with needle or through pigtail catheters
- Biopsies ultrasound and CT guided
- DJ stunting for urethral strictures
- Percutaneous cholecytostomy
- Bilary drainage and stunting
- Vascular stunting of Angioplasties
- Coil embolisation
- Trans arterial chemoembolisation
- Uterine artery embolisation
- Diagnostic angiographies
- Angiofibroma embolization
- Mesenteric Angiography and embolisation
- Perm catheters for dialysis
- PICC of central lines
- Renal artery stunting of Angioplasty
- Peripheral Artery Stunting and Angioplasty
