This includes care for patients with neurological (nerve/nervous system) injuries or illnesses. Pulmonary rehabilitation is an evidence-based multidisciplinary and comprehensive intervention for patients with chronic respiratory diseases who are symptomatic and often have decreased daily life activities.
This multidisciplinary outpatient programme interacts with the other members of the rehabilitation team and aims to increase peripheral muscle strength and endurance, improve functional exercise capacity, reduce breathlessness and improve health related quality of life.
