We have highly qualified and experienced faculty in basic and clinical sciences. A large percentage of these faculty members have been trained in USA & UK and they are keen to make their contributions to the development of young professionals who would be the leaders of the future.

Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College (LNMC) has been affiliated with the University of Karachi since its inception and is allowed to impart training to 100 students each year for MBBS degree. Recently, our new batches have been affiliated with the Jinnah Sindh Medical University and are being trained in modular system in semesters.

Liaquat National Hospital has been taking a lead on national level in providing certifiable clinical and resuscitation skills training.
RSDC has latest training equipments as per international standards and has a trained certified dedicated team. The department has state of the art “ISO” certified instrumental rooms, interactive models and simulators. The participants are certified only after successfully passing through their assessments. The department runs AHA certified BLS and ACLS courses too.
Our first batch graduated in the year 2012 and went for Internship in 2013. So our success story begins from 2014 and is quite impressive in terms of pass rates.
Of the students who have completed internship to date, over 150 have passed FCPS – I & other exams and are working at prestigious institutes of Karachi like Liaquat National Hospital, Aga Khan University Hospital, Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation etc.
Around 50 students have passed PLAB / USMLE and other foreign exams and are undertaking residency in prestigious institutes like Mayo Clinic in USA, McMaster University – Canada, University College London Hospital – UK, Henry Ford Hospital & Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre, Harvard University – USA etc.
Our students have been awarded international scholarships from Ivy League Universities such as Brown, Tufts and also Fulbright scholarships.
Our students have over 50 publications in local and international journals of repute and are actively participating in over 30 research projects. Currently 25 articles have been submitted by the students for publication.
Moreover our students participate and win poster competitions. One of our students, Javeria Mansoor won 1st prize at Jinnah Sindh Medical University’s Research Poster Competition. Her topic of Research was “Academic use of smart phone and correlation of its addiction with sleep disturbances among medical students”.
The college encourages extra-curricular activities and our students are keenly involved in it. We have 09 students’ societies to enhance the extra-curricular skills of our students.
These student societies are headed by senior faculty members who guide and mentor students in holding of activities related to their society. They teach them organizational skills, budgeting and team building.

Liaquat National Medical College is affiliated with the University of Karachi since 23rd September 2006, and is allowed to impart training to 100 students each year for MBBS degree. University of Karachi has been awarding degrees to medical graduates for well over half a century. Recently, our new batches have been affiliated with the Jinnah Sindh Medical University and are being trained in modular system in semesters.

Limited accommodation (subject to the availability of seats) is available on the premises for both male and female medical students from out of Karachi.

6. What is the research scope at LNMC?
LNMC has a research committee of students. All the research activities are supervised by research & ethical committees, which comprises of Chairperson and 8 – 10 members. The research committee has developed its own guidelines for submission of research projects meeting the international Helsinki Guidelines. Regular meetings are held to assess the submitted research projects and if necessary revisions and changes are done in research protocols. Once the research protocol along with the budget & time line is approved then it is referred to ethical review board before final approval. Research committee has substantial funds and encourages students & faculty to participate in national or international conferences and submit articles to international & national journals and provides financial support. To date our Medical students have published multiple papers in local and international journals as well as read papers both locally as well as internationally.

Yes MBBS only.
But beside LNMC we have School & College of Physiotherapy, School & College of Nursing, BS Medical Technology in Diagnostic Laboratory Services, Operation Theater Sciences, Dialysis Technology, Critical Care Sciences, Diagnostic, and Radiology.
9. When do students start ward rotation?
From 3rd Year MBBS onwards.
